You don’t make a bag for just one season. You make it so that one day, your daughter finds it in your closet and decides to keep it.

The Story Behind Margaret Leather

In 1990, Margaret opened her leather workshop in Merrickville, Ontario, taught by her grandmother and guided by one unwavering rule: never compromise on quality.

Thirty-six years later, she is still working at the same workbench, now alongside her son and granddaughter. But today, her hands are telling her it’s time to stop.

Rather than place her name in someone else’s hands, the family has chosen to close the workshop with dignity — with one final collection.

Nothing leaves the workshop until it’s perfect.

Every bag is checked twice before it is shipped. Camille inspects the finish, edges, and details. Margaret checks the construction and stitching. If either of them spots a flaw, the bag goes straight back to the workbench.
